She's so darling these days. It's like she's right in between being a baby & being a toddler & I love this stage so much. Her favorite foods are pears, apples & butternut squash. She has two little teeth (& more on their way). She loves to dance with me & her daddy & she loves it when we read together. She doesn't like to go to bed & doesn't really care for sleep all that much. She thinks Moxie is the funniest. She's changed our lives & the past eight months with her have been bliss.

That's a half a year of life already. I can't believe it. I remember so clearly the first moments that I pulled her to my chest, told her happy birthday & that I was so proud of her already. Craig & I both just wept as we held her for the first time, touched her tiny fingers, stared into her beautiful blue-gray eyes. And somehow a half a year has gone by since then. On one hand I feel the old cliche of 'gosh time flies. they grow up so fast. it feels like just yesterday ...' but on the other hand it feels like it's been every bit of six months, every moment experienced & savored. And now our little Emrie girl is zero and a half & we're loving every moment. My heart just aches with love for our little Rie. Our rolling over, laughing constantly, highchair-sitting, babbling, drooling, newly eating, always grinning, toe-sucking, swinging, playing, beautiful little girl.

I'm crazy about her profile. LOVE it.

Life is so full right now & I just haven't spent the time, well, here. But I have scribbled down a few I-want-to-blog-about-that thoughts recently, usually barely legible because they're written with my left hand since I'm holding my girl (and making lunch, folding laundry, doing origami) with my right. Here they are, some things on my mind (in no particular order) ... My new(ish) favorite TV show is How I Met Your Mother. Do you guys know how great that show is?! Craig & I Netflixed it & it's one of my favorite (& one of the few) shows we watch, it's just awesome. Speaking of awesome, we've been making s'mores at home, in our kitchen. And it is so fun. Craig made his in the toaster oven. At first he just had the mallow on the little rack but when it started melting & dripping into a sugary mess & I yelled 'CRAIG!' he revised the plan by putting it on the graham and then on the rack & it was smooth sailing from there. It actually made the house smell delicious. I stuck with the stove top because I like my mallow burned to a crisp. Don't judge. Speaking of things that are awesome, you know what's definitely NOT? Taxes. boo. Can I get an amen?! We got some new patio furniture this weekend. Two cute blue adirondack chairs to relax in on sunny days. It hasn't stopped raining since we brought them home. But I keep admiring them out the window & telling Emrie 'see those new chairs? We'll sit in them & put on sunscreen that smells like coconut & drink lemonade when they're not covered in soggy pine needles anymore, k?' Also, there is nothing more adorable in this world than our girl in her new bathing suit. Seriously, I'd show you but you'd just die. And I can't be responsible for that. Also speaking if little E, I just finished writing out my birth story (yes, it took me FIVE months to do it) & I can't read it without crying (tears of JOY, so much joy & thankfulness & wonder). I printed it out & tucked it inside Emrie's baby book so that she can read it one day & know about all of the details leading up to her arrival, her BIRTHday. And so that I can read it weeks, months, years from now & remember what a beautiful story it is. Speaking of our beautiful, here she is at five months ... I hope you're enjoying the ones you've been given.
